DSP Engineering Group

DSP Engineering Group designs and develops real-time embedded DSP firmware and hardware for next generation of software defined tactical radios. Through aggressive use of DSP, hardware intensive functions are replaced by software, allowing reductions in size, weight and power, while maintaining the critical level of reliability required for tactical use.

Skills required include BSEE or MSEE with 5+ years experience (Senior Level) or 10+ years experience (Principal & Manager Level). DSP design and development for real-time embedded DSP firmware and hardware. Experienced with C and Assembly. Hands-on with audio processing, gain control and modulation / demodulation (FSK, ASK, PSK) techniques. Full software development lifecycle, familiar with ECCM and frequency hopping algorithms, basic knowledge of RF fundamentals, knowledge of common engineering software and tools.

DSP Manager

Leading provider of military handheld radios and communications equipment seeks qualified candidate to manage a group of digital signal processing (DSP) software engineers and FPGA engineers/developers, designing cutting-edge tactical handheld communications products. Includes handling performance appraisals, setting of department objectives, reviewing and supporting overall software development process improvements, enforcement of development processes, mentoring and leadership in the analysis and design of signal processing algorithms and their implementation for Software Defined Radios (SDR), and support and accountability to the VP Engineering, as a direct report.

Their requirements:

Significant experience in DSP (digital signal processing) coding using C and assembly language for algorithm development in wireless devices for high rate audio processing, gain control, and modulation/demodulation (FSK, ASK, and PSK) techniques is required.

Experience with INFOSEC and ECCM/frequency hopping would be a plus. Experience with CORBA, UML, Real-Time Operating Systems and real-time OOAD is a major plus.

BSEE with 5+ years management experience leading a team (at least 5 or more) of signal processing developers in real-time communications designs.

Candidate must have a good working knowledge of digital hardware design (logic design, FPGA design, interfaces, noise considerations, etc.) and good firmware development practices. In addition, must have had hands-on debugging experience with PC based development tools and an understanding of real-time software development in a constrained environment (such as PDA development and wireless handset development).

Previous experience with any of the following devices is desired: Hitachi H8, StrongARM, Analog Devices DSPs, TI DSPs, Atmel AVR microcontrollers, Altera and/or Xilinx FPGAs.

U.S. Citizenship - and the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance is also required, existing Secret ot Top Secret clearance given strong preference.
